No. 8 Whitman handled No. 19 Puget Sound on the road and Austin surprised No. 13 Washington U. on Saturday night. Meanwhile Hope joined the 800-win club and Juniata soared over No. 16 Scranton at home.

Whitman beat Puget Sound 80-69 in the first of two regular season meetings between the ranked NWC foes. Casey Poe scored 12 points in the third quarter and Mady Burdett hit three pointers on three consecutive fourth-quarter possessions for Whitman (6-1, 2-0 NWC). Elizabeth Prewitt scored 27 points for Puget Sound (4-2, 1-1 NWC) which will travel to Whitman on Jan. 26. Box score
Bryce Frank scored 30 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for Austin College and the Kangaroos bounced Washinton U. 85-77 in the Bears' McWilliams Classic. Washington U. (4-2) pulled within six at 71-65 with two minutes left before Addy Walling scored six points in 30 seconds to seal victory for Austin (4-4).
No. 7 Hope rolled over Adrian 84-49 and claimed the program's 800th win all-time. The Flying Dutch are the seventh NCAA Division III women's basketball team to reach 800 wins, joining Husson, Elizabethtown, St. John Fisher, Southern Maine, Scranton and Washington U. in that category.
Juniata upped its record to 7-0 and opened Landmark Conference play by beating Scranton 62-54. Dani Atkinson notched 23 points, seven rebounds and four steals for the Eagles. No. 25 Marietta edged Baldwin Wallace 63-62 thanks to a free throw from Alexis Enochs with five seconds left. Enochs scored eight of her 11 points in the fourth quarter for the Pioneers (6-0, 2-0 OAC).
Brandi Vallely finished one rebound short of a triple-double and No. 22 Muhlenberg edged Johns Hopkins 69-64 in overtime. Vallely finished with 16 points, 10 assists and nine boards for the Mules (7-0, 4-0 CC). Lexie Schlotz put up a double-double (26 points, 11 rebounds) for Johns Hopkins (2-4, 2-2 CC).
Muskingum outlasted and outscored John Carroll 103-97 in triple overtime. Olivia Besancon tallied 36 points in 49 minutes for the Muskies (2-2, 1-0 OAC) while Nicole Heffington rolled up 28 points and 12 rebounds for the Blue Streaks (2-3, 0-1 OAC).
