Beloit head coach Jennifer McCormick is changing jobs, but staying in the Midwest Conference. She is the new head coach at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois.
Illinois College Athletic Director Mike Snyder announced McCormick as the Lady Blues' sixth head coach since they entered Division III in 1981.
"From the start of the search process, we were targeting an individual who could capitalize on our program's recent successes and continue to move this program to the top of the Midwest Conference," said Snyder in a release. "Coach McCormick's strong, experienced background will enable her to do just that. She is an excellent fit for this program and for this school. I am confident she will have prolonged success as the leader of the Lady Blues basketball program."
McCormick coached at Beloit for five seasons over which the Buccaneers improved their MWC record from 2-16 in 2011-2012 to 7-11 last season. Beloit finished last season tied for eighth at 7-11, 9-14 overall while Illinois College was tied for fifth at 9-9, 12-11 overall.
Before arriving at Beloit, McCormick spent two years as an assistant at Loras and four years at Arthur (Ill.) High School in her hometown.
McCormick replaces Lora Westling who went 38-32 in three seasons at Illinois College. Westling took the head coaching job at Division II Western State in Gunnison, Colo.
