Franciscan (Ohio) changed its head coach for the third time in three seasons. Joe Wallace, who spent time as an assistant at two Division I schools, takes over a program that has won seven games total in its last five seasons.

Franciscan's Vice President of Student Life David Schmiesing announced that the Ohio Valley native will be the Baron's fourth coach since they joined NCAA Division III in 2007.

"I'm truly blessed to be joining the Franciscan University family," said Wallace in a release. "With its unwavering commitment to mission and identity, Franciscan University has created a strong national profile and I am excited to help purvey that same mission as the Baron's head basketball coach."

Wallace comes to Steubenville, Ohio from the west coast where he was the director of basketball operations at Division I San Jose State. Previously Wallace spent two seasons at Division I College of Charleston and six seasons at Division I Tulsa. He played football for two seasons at West Liberty University and graduated from the West Virginia school in 2005.

Wallace replaces George Vargo who went 1-23, 1-17 in the AMCC in his only season. The Barons have won 13 games total since the start of the 2011-12 season.
