Carroll University selected Lindsay Schultz to lead its women’s basketball program as it prepares to enter one of the toughest conferences in Division III basketball.
Director of Athletics Joe Baker announced that Schultz as the sixth head coach in program history, replacing Kris Jacobsen who resigned in April after 18 seasons.
Schultz has eight years of experience as a Division I assistant coach, including the last four at Bradley University. Before going to Bradley, Schultz worked one season as an assistant at Division II UW-Parkside and four seasons as an assistant at Division I UW-Milwaukee.

Carroll University's leadership, its growth in the areas of academics and athletics, and its innovative vision shows the University's commitment to providing student-athletes with an exceptional collegiate experience," said Schultz in a release.
Schultz graduated from NAIA Cardinal Stritch in 2004. She played three seasons for the Wolves and one at Division I Stetson.
She replaces Jacobsen who stepped down in April to pursue other opportunities. Jacobsen led the Pioneers to a 266-173 record in 18 seasons, including a 188-112 mark in the Midwest Conference. In 2005-2006 Carroll won its first MWC conference title, made its first appearance in the NCAA tournament and knocked off Calvin in the first round. Jacobsen was named the MWC Coach of the Year.
Jacobsen was also the University’s athletic director from 2001 to 2010 and coached the Carroll softball team to two conference titles.
Schultz will lead Carroll’s program as the University returns to the CCIW after 25 years in the MWC. The CCIW is one of the tougher conferences in Division III for women’s basketball. Its members have a 25-15 record in the last 10 NCAA tournaments in comparison to the 5-11 mark posted by MWC members.
Carroll finished 9-14, 8-10 in the MWC last season.
