No. 1 Augustana defeated UW-Oshkosh 67-65 on a very late jump shot while No. 2 Whitworth fought off Calvin 68-65.

Top-ranked Augustana led Oshkosh for most of the second half but seldom by more than four points. The Titans briefly took the lead with less than seven minutes to play before Augustana regained control with a 7-0 run. Ben Boots hit a three pointer with 21 seconds left to pull UW-Oshkosh even at 65. On Augustana's next possession Hunter Hill made the game-winning shot with just three seconds left and UW-Oshkosh couldn't get off a shot to tie.
Hill finished with 28 points on 11-for-15 shooting and Ben Ryan added 17 points and six rebounds for Augustana (10-0). Alex Olson scored 18 points for UW-Oshkosh (6-4).
No. 2 Whitworth rallied past Calvin 68-65 in the last of six games in the D3hoops.com Classic's third day. The Pirates opened up a seven-point lead with less than three minutes to play but Calvin hit two 3-pointers down the stretch to draw within one possession. Trailing by two with 18 seconds left, Calvin nearly forced a 10 second count but the Knights' defender stepped out of bounds trying to intercept Whitworth's last second pass down the floor.
Kenny Love scored 28 points including a 12-for-13 performance from the free throw line. Whitworth, which shot 78 percent from the free throw line entering the game, did even better tonight. The Pirates shot 87 percent (20-for-23).
Buffalo State edged New Jersey City 119-116 in an epic contest that went to double overtime and set an NCAA record in the process. The teams combined for 112 free throws, the most free throws in a Division III game. Nico McLean scored 30 points for the Bengals, shooting 9-for-13 from the line. Buff State snapped NJCU's seven-game winning streak.
No. 8 Marietta fended off Mount St. Joseph 83-80 in the first game of Wooster's Mose Hole/Kiwanis Classic. Dillon Young scored 20 points for the Pioneers who outscored the Lions by 20 in the paint.
No. 10 John Carroll surged past Brockport State 111-96 on 46 percent three point shooting. David Linane scored 20 points for the Blue Streaks who improved to 10-0. No. 14 WPI returned from a long holiday break with a 58-51 win at Bates. The Bobcats' CBB rivals fared better as Colby dumped No. 16 Mount Union 87-81. Texas-Tyler hit 23 of 26 free throws and hung on to beat No. 25 Texas Lutheran, 87-84.
So far there's no getting a jump on Division III's Kangaroos. The SUNY-Canton Kangaroos defeated the Connecticut College Camels 85-82 in a game that was entertaining for more than the mascot names. Sam Annorh scored 28 points and Vonallen Pickett added 23 off the bench for SUNY-Canton (10-0). The Austin Kangaroos are also undefeated, thanks to their 78-73 win over LeTourneau. Brian Baehl (20 points, 10 rebounds) and Stephen Igbinosa (10 points, 14 rebounds) tallied double-doubles for Austin (9-0).
