Staten Island leads, 7-2.  St. Joseph's has won two of the previous three meetings. 

Last Meeting

The Bears took an eight-point lead into halftime and survived a late Staten Island comeback to win a thrilling 103-102 contest.  Three Bears finished with more than 20 points and St. Joseph's connected on a then school record 17 three-point field goals.  In the final minute, St. Joseph's went 5-of-7 from the free throw line to hold off the Dolphins.

Last Time Out

The Bears won their fourth consecutive game defeating Lancaster Bible 75-52 on the road last Friday. St. Joseph's shot a season second-best 48.3% from the floor and 54.5% from behind the arc in the the win.  Jan Rogowski scored a game-high 20 points as he and Thomas Karasinski (15 pts) combined to sink 10 of the Bears' 12 three point field goals.

Inside the Bear Den

St. Joseph's is currently riding a season-best four game winning streak, their longest winning streak since their 2006-2007 campaign.  The Bears finished conference play with a 4-2 record, winning their last three conference matchups.

Senior Justin Gist leads the Bears in scoring with 13.5 points per game.  The guard has been hot lately shooting 20-for-35 from the field during the team's four game winning streak.  He has also been active on the glass and is third on the team with 91 rebounds this season.

Gist's backcourt mate, fellow senior Antoine Forehand leads the Bears from the free-throw line shooting a career-best 75.6% from the charity stripe.  Forehand has also dished out 2.8 assists per game with a season-high six coming in the win against Pratt.

David Louison still is ranked #20 in Division III in rebounding (10.4) and is the second-highest freshman.

The Bears will honor the two graduating seniors, co-captains Justin Gist & Antoine Forehand, in a ceremony following the conclusion of tonight's game.

Accolades

Junior Jan Rogowski was named AD3I Player of the Week earlier today for games ending Feb. 12, his second time receiving the honor this season.  Freshman David Louison also received his fourth AD3I Player of the week selection for the week of Jan. 23-29 in a delayed release by the Association last week.

Flipper Facts

Staten Island is also on an impressive winning streak, entering Brooklyn Technical High School with 13 straight victories and haven't lost in the calendar year.  The Dolphins are also ranked #1 in the Atlantic Region in all of Division III for the first time since the 1996-1997 season. Staten Island went a perfect 11-0 in conference play this year and are the #1 seed in the upcoming CUNYAC tournament.

The hot shooting Dolphins, ranked #5 in Division III in field-goal percentage, are led by Bloochy Magloire who averages 17.8 points per game.  The sophomore guard has four 30+ point scoring efforts this season including a season-high 34-point output in their latest win over Brooklyn College.  Fellow guard T.J. Tibbs sits in the #12 in Division III with 6.1 assists per game.  Forward/Center Jordan Young has scored in double-digits in all but one game this season and has recorded a double-double seven times.

Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference Tournament

The Bears conclude their regular season tonight and head to Albany for the HVMAC tournament this weekend seeking their third HVMAC title.  The #3 seeded Bears will take on #2 Vaughn in their semifinal match at 3 p.m. and look to avenge a 67-64 loss to the Warriors at home earlier this season.  The winner will play the winner of #4 Culinary vs #1 Berkeley.
