Recapping the 2018-19 D3hoops.com Classic

Ben College, Whitworth junior guard, was named the D3hoops.com Classic's men's basketball Most Outstanding Player, with Amherst's Hannah Fox the Most Outstanding Player in the women's basketball event.

Who attends the D3hoops.com Classic? Everybody! This is our ninth year sponsoring the tournament, and here are all the teams who have been to our tournament more than once. Men: Ramapo (eight times), Carroll, Hardin-Simmons, UW-Stevens Point and Whitworth (three times) and twice apiece for Colorado College, Gustavus Adolphus, Hanover, Husson, Linfield, North Central (Ill.) Pacific Lutheran, Skidmore, Wartburg, Whitman and Wisconsin Lutheran. Women: Carthage has been to our tournament four times, with Amherst and Occidental three times, and twice apiece for Coe, DeSales, La Verne, Simpson, St. Vincent and UW-Stevens Point. In all, 49 men's programs have come to the D3hoops.com Classic and 44 women's programs.

Day 1 coverage

Ohio Northern women post late 13-0 run; Linfield catches fire in second half; North Central player breaks Classic 3-pointer mark.

Day 2 coverage

Ohio Northern holds off North Central's buzzer-beater attempt; Hannah Fox pours in 43 for Amherst; Willamette wins despite two fourth-quarter points and UW-Platteville comes away 2-0.

 

Day 3 coverage

The No. 9 Pirates defeated Johns Hopkins on a layup with 1.2 seconds left, while Carthage rallied for a fourth-quarter win and Linfield and Amherst wrapped up their trip to Las Vegas at 2-0.

Day 4 coverage

The final day featured one game, which became a nail-biting win, and the naming of the 2018 D3hoops.com Classic All-Tournament teams.

For the ninth year we welcome teams from coast to coast to the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas for three-plus days of wall-to-wall basketball. If you need anything, here's your one-stop-shop for catching up on the week's events.
