1980 Division III men's basketball tournament

North Park made it a three-peat with an 83-76 win against Upsala. At the time, North Park joined only UCLA as teams with three consecutive national titles. Michael Thomas scored five points in a 13-2 second half run that helped the Vikings take control of the game. North Park was up by six at halftime before Upsala closed the margin to 49-45.

Guard Modzel Greer led North Park with 18 points in the title game while Thomas had 17. Michael Harper missed nearly half the game with foul trouble but still had 16 points and five boards. Steve Keenan was the top scorer in the tournament with 105 after scoring 19 in the championship game for Upsala.
